During the competition, finalists will present their ideas to a panel of experts, who will select one winner to represent Indianapolis in the Bright Ideas STEM from Today’s Youth Finalist Pitch Event. The competition judges include:
- Laura Dodds, Executive Director, Techpoint Foundation for Youth
- Wil Marquez, Founder, Design Bank Indy and W/Purpose
- Don Kent, President, Net Literacy
- Ryan Pfenninger, Chief Technology Officer, 250ok
- Bob Abrams, STEM Specialist, Indiana Afterschool Network
The students are competing for the opportunity to advance to the final round of the competition, where one finalist from each of Bright House Networks six service areas will be selected to compete at the national competition. The Finalist Pitch Event will take place in Orlando, Florida, where students will compete head-to-head on TV, in front of a studio audience at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center’s Alexis & Jim Pugh Theatre. At the event, the finalists will have no more than six minutes to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts who will select one winner. The program will be recorded and available via Video on Demand (VOD) on Bright House Networks.
The Grand Prize Winner will have the chance to work with a leading innovation firm to build a virtual prototype and a business plan – which means this student’s dream or idea could potentially be realized and fulfilled!
