Enjoy music, dancing and Mooncakes at the Chinese Mooncake Festival from 7-9 p.m. at the southwest corner of Monon & Main Street. The event celebrates the city’s Chinese community and includes food and live entertainment, while also honoring Carmel’s sister city Xiangyang City in China. The festival is presented by IU Health North Hospital and Carmel-Xiangyang Sister City Committee.
Featured artists and exhibits during the August Gallery Walk include:
ArtSplash Gallery (111 W. Main St., Suite 140) features a joint exhibit by Fine Art Photographer Marie Reamer and Woodworker/Furniture Designer Peter Falk. Reamer’s photographs are of ancient Japanese temple gardens and contemporary architecture in Kyoto and Tokyo. Falk’s wood designs are of contemporary furniture and elaborate traditional carved pieces.
The CAC Children’s Art Gallery (40 W. Main St.), featuring the “The World’s Smallest Children’s Art Gallery,” will display the student-created Carmel High School art show “A Spark of Hope.” The CAC’s student curators, CHS students Sabra Binder and Kiki Koniaras, will be in the gallery to discuss their art and the exhibit.

Be a part of the Scavenger Hunt that will lead you to find select pieces of art in each of the participating galleries and businesses. Begin the hunt in front of California Closets (1 Range Line Road). Follow the clues through the District and then turn in your completed clue sheet to receive a charm. Collect a different charm at each Gallery Walk throughout the year to complete a whole charm bracelet by the end of the year.
