Mr. Schurter represents clients from across the full spectrum of construction industry participants including architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners. He also advises clients in a wide range of design and construction related matters including contract review, negotiation, and termination, construction and design defect claims, professional negligence claims, performance and payment bond disputes, lien claims, and payment security issues.
Mr. Schurter recently served as counsel for a major telecommunications company in numerous property damage and personal injury cases arising out of an explosion and fire caused by an uncontrolled gas leak. He has also represented clients in cases involving boiler explosions, building envelope failures, roof collapses, structural failures, and premises liability claims.
Mr. Schurter is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Construction Industry Forum and was recognized in 2014 and 2015 as a Super Lawyers ® Rising Star in the states of Missouri and Kansas for construction litigation.
