Admissions account for only 7.8% of the museum's income. The rest is earned through memberships, grants, sales in the shop, and donations from individuals and businesses in our community, all of which are slated for increases in order to maintain a balanced budget for the museum, a non-profit organization that opened to the public in 1993.
New prices will be $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors 65 and over and/or military, $5 children aged 4 to 9, and still free to children aged three and under.
Although daily admission prices are going up, the prices of annual memberships are staying the same!
Memberships still start at only $25 a year at the Friend level, which gives the member unlimited free admission, subscription to "Friends" newsletter, invitations to special events, and access to the Museum library. A Family membership remains $45 a year, which grants all of the Friends benefits plus the option of bringing up to three guests at any one time. If you do the math, that's less than $4 a month for unlimited visits. A family of three could cover membership costs in only two visits!
